I'm just attempting to be explicit enough so that if someone like Lars
comes to it, assuming familiarity with linguistic terms such as "feature",
then they can have a pretty good idea of how to apply it without having to
get on a couple of email lists and spending a week trying to get somebody
to explain what on earth the term really means.
