I think see. So they are featural, but there are imperfections in the
systems.
It's not just having a systematic relation between graphical
appearance of characters and their phonetic properties that makes a
script featural, right? There's still some requirement to do with
features?
BTW, could anyone recommend good introductory books to phonetics and
linguistics, so that I can learn enough to actually understand this?
