I think you must prefer that because for you the primary defining
criterion for an abugida is that there is an unmarked form with an
inherent vowel and marked forms indicating vowel variations. I'm inclined
toward Evans' script because I'm inclined to think that the primary
defining criterion is the systematic pattern of markings that corresponds
to systmatic variations in the vowel quality.
