as far as i can find, the urbana collection doesn't *have* a copyright notice!
since it is a sort of "working papers" publication ("gray literature"),
perhaps the U/IL didn't feel it was necessary to copyright it. but WL&L is
of course a "regular" dutch journal. benjamins gave permission for my
article to be reprinted in urbana only after stipulating very strictly that
they were doing so only because *i* was the author, and that the permission
applied to the urbana volume only. after reviewing some correspondence, i
realize that benjamins is in fact *very* strict about copyright - even tho,
presumably because of an oversight, WL&L *also* doesn't contain a copyright
notice!

i've felt that, ethically, i should notify benjamins about their oversight;
so i bet they'll put a copyright notice in future issues. in any case, i'm
not going to put my article on *my* website, and anybody else who puts it
on a website does so at their own risk. however, as i've said, i'm willing
to snailmail hardcopy to anyone. cheers; bill
