Sorry, I probably picked the wrong example (I'm not an expert on ancient
scripts and so it would serve me right for not checking facts before
quoting them). If I'm wrong on that detail, please substitute your
favourite Canaanite abjad for Linear B. Ethiopic would have made the point
as well.
