I was reading something about this regarding proximity of the symbols,
one to another, and thus perhaps altered meaning.

But also...

an original (or two for both sides), from which a mould would be made,
need not be "perfect" for replication, nor need this, necessarily, be
a consideration. Maybe they had a deadline (!).
