This reminds me of a book I read: "La ricerca della lingua perfetta" (= the
quest for the perfect language) by Umberto Eco.

Eco reports about the millennary attempts to invent (or to recover) a
language that was perfect by every point of view (easy to learn, extremely
expressive, intrinsically logical, etc.).

In past centuries, these ideas were often bound to religion (e.g.,
recovering the angels' or Adam and Eve's language) while, in more recent
times, they are rather based on "scientific" principles.

Someone should write a book titled "The Quest for the Perfect Alphabet", in
order to keep record of these fascinating daydreams in the realm of writing.
