I would like to
inform you about the online course Georgian language and culture offered at
Malmoe University fall semester 2006.
The online course starts 1 September
but it is still possible to apply.
An application and the copies of required documents
may be sent by fax and then be sent by ordinary mail to Malmoe.
The
course is based exclusively on distance learning.
No obligatory meetings are
included.
There is no tuition fee. The only fee that students have to pay is
a reduced fee to the Malmoe Student Union of 170 SEK (approximately 20 USD) for
the whole semester. This fee shall be paid later in October.

General course information
The internet-based
Georgian language course will be offered in the fall semester 2006 (start
on the 1st of September) at Malmoe University, at the School of International
Migrations and Ethnical Relations.
The course is based exclusively on
distance learning. All course material (lectures in English, Georgian texts with
transliterations, exercises, Georgian-English dictionary, audio-files, Georgian
fonts etc) will be available on the net. No obligatory meetings in Malmoe are
included. The examination is also conducted on the
net.
Duration
The course starts on the 1st of
September and ends in the beginning of January. New lectures and exercises are
published on the Internet every week. You will have the address of the web-site,
your user-name and password. You will have to send answers to obligatory
exercises to us by e-mail. You will receive answers to your work individually to
your e-mail address. Besides the obligatory exercises, interactive exercises for
individual studies are also
included.
Fees
There is no tuition fee. The
only fee that students have to pay is a reduced fee to the Malmö Student Union
of 170 SEK (approximately 15 USD) for the whole semester. The fees should be
paid in the middle of the semester.
In order to be admitted
the following data and documents are required:

An application form where you fill in the following

(You will find a space for this
code in the application form under the item 10)

Application written on an ordinary
paper may also be accepted.
2. An attested copy of the diploma from your pre-university
education.
(An attested copy means that any private person who has another surname
than you will sign it and write that the copy is true)
If you
already study at university level in your own country you may send a
certificate about your current studies instead of a copy of the diploma from
your pre-university education.
3. A separate certificate attesting your knowledge of English
(level A).
The separate certificate is not necessary if your
diploma (/(gymnasiebetyg) includes English as one of subjects studied by
you.
