Isn't this a case of dissimilation?

Why? It is just as easy to believe that the actual form is gitdi than to believe it is gitti when
everyone pronounces it gitdi. Ditto for my other comments.



In Tagalog maligsí > maliksí "agile" it is assimilation that takes place.
