"new to the list"

hello, everyone!!!!

I'm new to this list.

My name is Lud, I'm a Brazilian guy and I'm into phonetics.

I'm glad I found a place like this to discuss it.

My first question is:

I was watching a movie where the children were afraid of the "sandman".

But both the adults and children pronnounced "sandman" as if the /nd/ sound is dropped (saman).

Is it really possible or did I mishear it (although I have already heard that "nd" and "nt" may be really dropped in some accents)?
