Juozas:
The whole language should be rationally
reformed and the process started in some fields.
Sergejus:
By practical reasons,
some languages from time to time suffer from re-catechization,
the linguists being the only
sufferer.
Reform Lithuanian? Gloriously
archaic Lithuanian? The language every Indo-Europeanist would love to be fluent
in? It's like proposing to
give the Mona Lisa a new (overpainted) dress.
Nonetheless, I sympathize with
Juozas. The 'standard' forms of modern langauges tend to be out of step with
what you hear everyday on the streets.
English could use some reforming
too, but this is unlikely.
