Dear Huynh Trong Khanh,

I think your learners might find it easier to start with the Pali Primer:

Best wishes,

Dear all,

I am teaching a Pali class in pagoda using the book A New Course On Reading Pali by James Gair and Karunatillake. I divide each lesson into 4 sub-lessons which each is taught during 3 hours. The first sub-lesson cover all the discourse-paragraph 1 and 2 of the lesson 1 and also all the grammar needed ONLY for reading those 2 paragraphs. I have just finished teaching it and received feedback that the majority of learners could not comprehend all the knowledge while a small number feels interested due to their prior knowledge of English or Pali basic grammar.

Although I know there is no perfect course and the learners should have suitable base I would like to hear your sharing on this for improving my teaching.

Sincerely yours,

Huynh Trong Khanh
