Thank you Jim, i did think of that one... As context, I'm looking at the proximate cause of sati, which is thirasaññā... I realized though, that athira- is used as an opposite in other compounds, so maybe I'll go with that.

How about "cala"? Last summer I did some research on thira (Skt. sthira) and
came across the meaning acala for sthira in two commentaries on Uṇādi Sūtra
I.53. So cala seems like a good choice for the opposite of thira or sthira.
