romanized Pali and Windows 10

Dear All,

After nearly 12 years of use out of my Windows XP computer and learning that
browsers including Foxfire are no longer supporting this antiquated system,
I decided  the time had come to upgrade to a new computer. I'm writing from
the old one. For the past few days I've been adjusting the settings of the
new computer and adding some software.

The main problem I'm facing is not being able to type those special
romanized Pali or Sanskrit characters in emails and the browser even though
I had no problem installing keyboard layouts for Devanagarī, Burmese, and
Sinhala. But so far, I have tried unsuccessfully to install one for typing
romanized Pali. What I have been using on the XP is the excellent alt-latin
keyboard layout from the U of Chicago website.

Does anyone have a solution or any suggestions? Apparently, some people have
had some success in installing a custom keyboard layout on Windows 10
according to what I read on a Microsoft forum.

Best wishes,

Jim
