Dear Jim,
Thanks so much for your support. I have improved my searching skill from what you showed. However, I would like to confirm with you as:
Tattha byañjanato tāva veraṃ maṇatīti veramaṇī
Here the word (maṇati) came together with (iti) will be regarded as (Definition of maṇati), right? So the sentence could be re-structured as: Tattha byañjanato maṇatīti: tāva veraṃ veramaṇī
So (Definition of maṇati) = tāva veraṃ veramaṇī
Sincerely yours,
Huynh Trong Khanh

There is also this from the Khuddakapaṭha-aṭṭhakathā (Pj I 24):
Tattha byañjanato tāva veraṃ maṇatīti veramaṇī, veraṃ pajahati, vinodeti,
byantīkaroti, anabhāvaṃ gametīti attho. Viramati vā etāya karaṇabhūtāya
veramhā puggaloti, vikārassa vekāraṃ katvā veramaṇī.

Dear Huynh Trong Khanh,
I found this in the Dhātumālā (part of Saddanīti):
Maṇa cāge. Veraṃ maṇatīti veramaṇi.
You can look up the meanings under "cajati", also under Skt. tyajati. The
meaning is to abandon, give up, renounce, sacrifice, etc. which is not so
different from vināsati. Another root maṇ has the meaning of to sound
(sadde).
Best,
Jim

Dear all,
When looking up the Vinaya Commentary for the word "Veramaṇī", I have faced
the strange word "maṇati" that I could not find in dictionary. I tried to
derive its meaning, but there was not so much progress for me.
