It loads properly in my Acrobat Reader (version 9). The pdf download link at
archive.org redirects you to Google where the file is kept and then you have
to read and type in a number before the download can begin. The link above
should make it much easier.
I think this edition is the one Childers used to compile his 1875
dictionary.
