Dear Colleagues and Friends,
I am currently conducting a year-long beginners Pali course here at the University of Toronto, with the hope of offering multiple levels in the years to come.
For my students to pursue their Pali studies during term break and on their research travels, I would like to draw up a list of summer schools or institutions that regularly offer intermediate or advanced Pali for English speakers as well as the names of contacts and trusted individual Pali teachers affiliated to academic institutions who have experience in teaching foreign, Anglophone students. I am particularly interested in institutions in Asia, with a preference for locations in South and Southeast Asia, so that students may combine working on their Pali with an opportunity to do ethnographic or archival work on Buddhism-related projects.
I would be very grateful, if you could send me whatever comes to mind (addresses, names, times, links, and, if you are willing to share them, personal experiences and assessments), either on- or off-list. I would be glad to share with all of you the list of addresses and contacts that may emerge from this request.
With warm regards,
Christoph
