Dear Jim,
the meaning given in MW is to be found in Pali too, but it does not fit the case. By the way, as Ole told me, the meaning given in DOP was already given in the CPD, where I didn't look.
I think it is great that you translate these verses. And naturally there is always room for improvement. But it is great that you undertake the task to translate the Sv-nt introductory verses.
