Dear Friends,

Sorry I'm a bit late with this one.  This completes the
Paribbājakakathā, and I'm going to stop there until I return from
Thailand in December.

Brahmajāla Sutta Para. 6

Pali:

6. ‘‘Mamaṃ vā, bhikkhave, pare vaṇṇaṃ bhāseyyuṃ, dhammassa vā vaṇṇaṃ
bhāseyyuṃ, saṅghassa vā vaṇṇaṃ bhāseyyuṃ, tatra tumhehi na ānando na
somanassaṃ na cetaso uppilāvitattaṃ karaṇīyaṃ. Mamaṃ vā, bhikkhave, pare
vaṇṇaṃ bhāseyyuṃ, dhammassa vā vaṇṇaṃ bhāseyyuṃ, saṅghassa vā vaṇṇaṃ
bhāseyyuṃ, tatra ce tumhe assatha ānandino sumanā uppilāvitā tumhaṃ
yevassa tena antarāyo. Mamaṃ vā, bhikkhave, pare vaṇṇaṃ bhāseyyuṃ,
dhammassa vā vaṇṇaṃ bhāseyyuṃ, saṅghassa vā vaṇṇaṃ bhāseyyuṃ, tatra
tumhehi bhūtaṃ bhūtato paṭijānitabbaṃ – ‘itipetaṃ bhūtaṃ, itipetaṃ
tacchaṃ, atthi cetaṃ amhesu, saṃvijjati ca panetaṃ amhesū’ti.

English:

6. "And if, bhikkhus, others speak in praise of me, or in praise of the
Dhamma, or in praise of the Sangha, you should not give way to
jubilation, joy, and exultation in your heart. For if you were to become
jubilant, joyful, and exultant in such a situation, you would only be
creating an obstacle for yourselves. If others speak in praise of me, or
in praise of the Dhamma, or in praise of the Sangha, you should
acknowledge what is fact as fact, saying: 'For such and such a reason
this is a fact, this is true, there is such a thing in us, this is found
among us.'
