N: I got your point as to pa.tipanno better to stay close to the
text. PED: having followed or following up, reaching. going along,
practising, obtaining.
Perhaps the translator concluded that reaching is: proficient in, the
result of the practice.
I also think that it refers to the anaagaamii who has eradicated all
attachment to sense pleasures.
