Dear Friends,

Thank you for the link to the photo section. Didn't think to look there.
Like the person in the archived post, I don't seem to get an image large
enough, even working from the original size, to read clearly. I'm sure
I'm missing something obvious.

The Pali Cheat sheet is a good resource. I have most of the actual data
that I want digitally in one way or another, the goal is collecting it
in such a way that it can be sorted by endings, with each ending having
the relevant characteristics connected to it.

My basic reasoning behind creating an index of endings is that the
charts that currently exist are perfectly suited for people who are
already capable of figuring out which chart one must refer to in the
first place. Or, they would be perfect if you were translating into Pali
rather than from Pali. This, of course, is not a criticism. They are
obviously essential tools.

Here is a small chunk of what I have created so far. It's endings that
end in -o. Not every ending has each item. I'm sure the formatting will
not look good here, but it gives you an idea.
Last Affix Gender Stem Part of Speech Case Person
Number Frequency
o -anto M -a Prpt Nom Sg
o -anto M -a Prpt Voc Pl
o -anto M -a Prpt Nom Pl
o -anto M -a Prpt Acc Pl
o -ato M -a Prpt Abl Sg
o -ato M -a Prpt Gen Sg
o -etho OptAlt 2 Sg Rare
o -eyyavho OptAlt 2 Pl
o -o -aAor 2 Sg
o -o -aAor 2 Sg
o -o M -a Noun Nom Sg
o -o M -a Noun Voc Sg
o -o RootAor 2 Sg
o -o RootAor 2 Sg

My intention is for this to be a tool for learners, not an absolutely
authoritative reference. If anyone has thoughts on how to make a
resource like this more helpful to people I would love to have your input.

Because the learner is not able to necessarily parse the ending from the
stem, there needs to be some way to order the data from the last letter
of the ending, second to last letter, and so on.For now, as you can see,
I am just creating a column with the last letter and sorting by that.
Eventually I would like to figure out how to get Open Office to sort
according to the the Pali order.

I'm doing each group of endings in their own sheet in Calc(Oo's Excell)
and then manually compiling them into a separate sheet and then sorting.
I have to keep doing that each time I make changes. If someone know how
to do that dynamically, so the compiled sheet would update
automatically, I would love to learn. I don't even know what to call
that to look it up in a manual.

Best wishes,
BKh
