N: P.T.S. means Pali Text Society, it is the translation edited by them.
atta.m anubhoti should be: a.t.tham anubhoti.
You write: <The Manorathapūraṇī has a gloss on this passage
(quoted in the CPD) , saying, katama.m attha.m aaraadheti sampaadeti
paripuureti ("What purpose/benefit/aim/goal does it accomplish, obtain,
fulfill?").>
N: So it can mean purpose as well as benefit. An example that a Pali
term has more meanings that cannot be covered by just one English word.
Nina.
