184. samma, is used in addressing friends

"Aama, samma, idaanaaha.m vihaara.m gantvaa thera.m tayaa kata-pa.n.nasaalaaya nisinnaka.m disvaa aagato'mhi." [DhA.i,19]

YP: "Yes, friend, having gone to the monastery, and having seen the elder sitting with you in the completed-hut, here I come."

YP: idaanaaha.m = idaani aha.m
YP: I translate "idaanaaha.m ... aagato'mhi" as "here I come". Suggestions are welcome.

185. sammaa, rightly; properly; right

"Braahmano'smii ti ca vadamaano sammaa vadeyya, na ca pana musaavaada.m aapajjeyya?" [D.i,123]

Is it rightly spoken, without falling into falsehood, when he says: "I am a brahman?"

186. saya.m, oneself; by oneself

"Sayam eva odana.m saadhayaami;
Sayam eva bhaajana.m dhovi.m." [Thig.v.412]

I myself cooked the rice and myself washed the pot.

187. sasakka.m, surely; certainly

"Evaruupa.m te, Raahula, kaayena kamma.m sasakka.m na kara.niiya.m." [M.i,415]

Such action, Raahula, you should certainly not do with your body.

188. saha, is a conjunctive placed before the word connected by it

"Tadaa te pi cattaaro Mallaraajaputtaa paa.tihaariya.m disvaa laddhappasaadaa pabbajitvaa... na cirass'eva saha pa.tisambhidaahi arahatta.m paapu.ni.msu." [Godhikatheragaatha.t.thakathaa]

Having seen the Twin Miracle on that occasion, those four Malla-princes obtained faith in the Dhamma, and receiving ordination, before long became arahants endowed with the fourfold analytical insight.

Sometimes it has the meaning "instantly" or "as soon as".

"Saha sacce kate mayha.m mahaa pajjalito sikhii
Vajjesi so.lasa kariisaani udaka.m patvaa yathaa sikhii." [Va.t.taka-Jaataka,i,215]

As soon as I made the solemn declaration, the conflagration moved aside 16 kariisas as if it were met with a sheet of water.

In compounds:

* sahagata, concomitant
* sahagaamii, follower; one who goes with
* sahajaata, born together
* sahajiivii, living together
* sahadhammika, co-religionist
* sahanandii, rejoicing with
* sahaseyyaa, sharing of the same bed

189. sahasaa, hastily; suddenly; forcibly

"Na tena hoti dhamma.t.tho yen'attha.m sahasaa naye." [Dhp.v.256]

He is not thereby just, because he hastily arbitrates.

"Yo ~naatiina.m sakhaana.m vaa daaresu patidissati
Sahasaa sampiyena vaa, ta.m ja~n~naa vasato iti." [SN.v.123]

"By force, or with consent, the wastrel holds Commerce with wives of kinsmen or of friends." [B.T.32]

190. saadhu, well; alright; yes; thoroughly

(a) "Saadhu kho, samma saarathi, pabbajito naama; saadhu samacariyaa; saadhu pu~n~nakiriyaa." [D.ii,28]

Excellent indeed, friend charioteer, is what they call a monk; excellent are peaceful life and doing of good actions.

(b) "Saa: saadhu devaa ti vuttanayen'eva ta.m sabba.m katvaa." [DhA.iii,13]

"Very well, Sir," she said, and straight-away did all as she was instructed to do.
