Dear DC,
thank you for sharing with us your experiences in Sri Lanka.
Yes, what mother says one does not forget one's whole life. I am from
a humanistic background, no Buddhist education. But my mother
hammered in never to be untruthful, and this impressed me very much
during my whole life.
Anumodana to you for observing the five precepts and sometimes the
eight precepts. Yes, I remember that Poya day is such a great
occasion, people reciting Pali texts all over.
I did not hear before about Ven. Rerukaane Chandavimala. Perhaps when
there is an opportunity, for example in discussing Dhamma questions,
you could cite him.
With kind regards,
Nina.
