N: Ven. Buddhadhatta gave as example text below, but in PED there is
the adverbial use kaama.m: at will. willingly, instead of certainly.
This is more in conformity with the Ja. text, see below.

"Kaama.m cajaama Asuresu paa.na.m;
Maa me dijaa vikulaavaa ahesu.m." [J.i,198-206]

Y.P. Certainly we must leave our lives in the hands of the Asuras,
and let these birds not go without their nests.

hareyyu.m... ti" [M.i,86] On account of protecting those possessions
he becomes troubled in his mind (with the thought): "Whether these my
things would not be taken forcibly by kings...".

narrative and refers to a report by hearsay.)

Y.P. "Ja.tilassa kira gehe bhuumi.m bhinditvaa suva.n.napabbato
u.t.thito ti sutvaa." [DhA.iv.216] (The king) having heard that a
mountain of gold had arisen, rending the earth asunder, in the
Ja.tila's house.

ki.m su, what; which

Y.P. (a) "Atha na.m Satthaa: Ki.m, bhikkhu, naalattha tva.m tattha
vaasan ti pucchi." [DhA.i,294] The Teacher asked him: What, O monk,
were you not allowed to live there?

N: The Teacher asked him: Why, O monk, was it not right (naalattha)
that you were living there?
