thanks for all your replies to the previous post. It is good to see Ven. Yuttadhammo back on the list. I have looked through the comments, and rather than adding new translation, I will revise my previous post. In addition, I like to highlight that the Pali I used was from tipitaka.org. I did not check with CSCD, which is from the same source, but would appreciate any feedback on any difference between both. I also include comments from Jim's and Mahinda's replies. I hope this time it makes more sense. I also hope that someone can suggest a nice English rendering of "ta.m ta.m" in the first line.

Pa.ticca kaara.na.m ta.m ta.m, entiiti paccayaatha vaa;
Due to this and that function, [they] come [to be known as] paccayas/suffixes; or else,

note:
kaara.na.m = reason, cause.
paccayaatha vaa = paccayaa atha vaa; atha vaa = [lit. now or] or else.

Pa.ticca saddanipphatti, ito etiiti paccayaa.
due to the word completion, hence comes [the grammatical concept/definition of] paccayas/suffixes.

{Due to the functions they perform, and due to completion of a full word, hence suffixes are known are paccayas.}

Naamika-p-paccayaana.m yo, vibhaago aavi hessati;
Whichever classification of the nominal suffixes, will be evident;

Naamakappe yato tasmaa, na ta.m vitthaara-y-aamase.
in the Naamakappa since, (I) do not, therefore, furnish it with details.

note:
Naamakappa refers to the 21st pariccheda of the Suttamaalaa; kappa = [lit. rule] subject proper.
Jim: The tense termination of the verb "vitthaarayaamase is "aamase", 1st person plural, imperative, middle.
vitthaarayati = vitthaariyati? Previously, I have vitthaara-y-aamase = vitthaara aamase, where 'aamase' is 1st person singular, present, middle.

Yo novikara.naana.m tu, paccayaana.m vibhaagato;
Now, whichever, from the classification of the non-vikara.na suffixes;

So panaakhyaatakappamhi, vitthaarenaa'gamissatiiti.
it, yet in Aakhyaatakappa, will come with details.

note:
AAkhyaatakappa refers to the 25th pariccheda or chapter on verbs.

Iccaanekavidhesu paccayesu "vikara.napaccayaa naama ime"ti sallakkhetabbaa.
Among the various forms (of) verbal suffixes, "these known as vikarana suffixes" should be understood thus.

Alas, it is interesting to note that the author actually wrote a verse, in which half of it actually explains what content is excluded at this point and where to be expected in later chapters. I bet that ancient Pali grammarians had quite an exotic literary disposition. ;-)
