Regarding the teachers of the Bodhisatta please see MN 26, MN 36, MN 85. Here is what MN 26: Ariyaparyesana sutta says.

First teacher: Aalaara Kaalaama
Here the Bodhisatta attained to : aaki~nca~n~naayatana
Second teacher: Uddaka Raamaputta
Attainment: nevasa~n~naanaasa~n~naayatana

So at that time, the Bodhisatta did not attain san~n~naavedayita nirodha

Terms like Hindu Guru are vague and of recent origin. They are not mentioned, as far as I recall in the Canon.

Subject: [Pali] Meditation Stage

Dear Pali friends,

It is said that before the Buddha attained Enlightenment, he leant and practiced meditations from different Hindu gurus, and attained some meditative stages. Do you know what is the final stage of meditation he attainted at that time? Is it the Cessation of perception-and -feeling (sa~n~naa-vedayita- nirodha) or the Ream of neither-perception- nor-non-percepti on (n'eva sa~n~naa-naasa~ n~naayatana) ? According to what Pali text (s) we know this?

Thank you.
