Dear friends,

I have started an informative section under Forge (aka DhammaStudios)
to collect and present useful information that will assist two main
groups of users.

1. Beginners to Pali study and/or Tipitaka study.
2. College/university students researching on how Pali materials are
organised and presented.

The more experienced student/user will also find the information a
reference guide.

Typical information to be shown under this section includes,

1. How to type in Velthuis
2. How to quote from the Tipitaka
3. Commonly 'misspelled' Pali terms
4. What book(s) to refer to for Pali study (of various levels)

and so on.

The list is not exhaustive. Further content will be added, most likely
as a direct request/suggestion/contribution from group members through
the list or the public through the bulletin board, and also from
points which I pick up from our discussions.

The section is not meant to discourage further questions on these
areas. On the contrary, I hope to stimulate discussion and advance our
knowledge in these areas as the group matures and as the general
interest in Pali and Buddhism increases.

The pages will not be static, but will be frequently updated as new
information becomes available.

metta,
Yong Peng.
