Hello freeyow;

Let's say that you want to type the Pali words kavaca or
antaraayanivaaraka on a western keyboard and enter it into Google search.

Well, kavaca is no problem because the Romanized Pali doesn't use any
of the special Pali characters.

Now, (if you have a western keyboard) just go to the emsTyper 1.1 web
page. Click on 'Transliterate Pali (original language of Buddhism)'.
Type in the word antaraayanivaaraka. You will see that the aa in the
word becomes the Pali character.

Now, you can select the text and 'Drag and Drop' it into the search
bar on your browser (usually in the very upper left-hand corner of the
browser window).

Using the real Pali characters for words and phrases really helps to
get good search results.

Did it work? If you are using Linux or a Mac, it would be nice if you
posted a note (whether it works or does not work!). I can't test on
Linux and Mac computers right now.

I am also putting 9 Pali characters in this post right here that I
created with emsTyper 1.1 to see if they work in Yahoo posts: ā ī ū ḍ
ḷ ṃ ŋ ṭ ṅ

If you have any more questions then I would be happy to answer them.
