Dear Nina,
thank you. Yaati was among the possibilities I had considered.
However, I was thinking of translating the clause in a direct "word
for word" manner.
It is possible that in Pali usage, when a person mounts a
horse/elephant, he is considered as riding it. The word for rider is
aaroha. And we know the verb aaruhati. Although a person can aaruhati
onto anything, but if he aaruhati on a horse/elephant, he is riding
it. What do you think?
metta,
Yong Peng.

N: I am thinking of yaana, vehicle. The verb is yaati: to proceed. Is
this usable?
