You will find that different translations of one and the same verse can
vary considerably. This was, btw, what led me to study Pali in the first
place, in order to find out what the texts said.
I'll try to give an analysis of this verse:
Sabbapaapassa akara.na.m, ~ kusalassa upasampadaa,
Sacittapariyodapa.na.m - ~ eta.m Buddhaana' saasana.m.
Sabbapaapassa: sabba=all, paapa=evil, -ssa [genitive ending] - thus
sabbapaapassa = of all evil
akara.na.m=non-doing
Thus: Sabbapaapassa akara.na.m = the non-doing (to avoid) of all evil
kusalassa: kusala=good, healthy, -ssa [genitive ending]
upasampadaa=practice, cultivation
Thus: kusalassa upasampadaa = the cultivation (practice) of what is good
Sacittapariyodapa.na.m: sa=one's own, citta=mind, pariodapa.na.m=cleansing
Thus: Sacittapariyodapa.na.m = to cleanse one's mind
eta.m Buddhaana' saasana.m: eta.m=this (is), buddhaaana'= of the Buddhas
(the Awakened Ones) (note that this word is in plural), saasana.m=teaching
Thus: eta.m Buddhaana' saasana.m = this is the teaching of the Awakened Ones.
