Because of its colonial history, Sri Lanka has a lot
of people with Portuguese and Dutch names, but
normally they don't speak Portuguese or Dutch (you
can't even be sure they have European ancestors). A
lot of years ago, a Christian friend of mine made me
visit a service at the Dutch Reformed Church in
Colombo; even there, I didn't here a single Dutch word
- only English, Sinhalese and Tamil.
There are some Dutch lonewords in Sinhalese, however,
e. g. "kantoruva" for "office" (Perhaps also "vatura"
for "water", but I am not certain whether that was
taken from Dutch or English; it's spelled the same way
in both languages.)

(No, I'm not Dutch, but exactly fifty years ago I was
operated for appendicitis in Vlissingen.)
