Actually, it is the World Fellowship of Buddhists (WFB).

All calendars are conventional devices, of course: so the more Vesaks
the merrier.

The "True Vesak" is mentioned in the Vatthupama Sutta (M 7), where
the Buddha tells Sundarika Bharadvaja that

For those whose minds are pure, everyday is a holy day,
That Buddha-Gaya is not a place, but any "well".
(M 1:39)

The Buddha us admonishing us to internalize the spirit of Vesak, not to
merely worship him externally as an object.
