There are 2 ethnic groups claiming descendance from
the Buddha in Nepal: the Newars and a subgroup from
them, namely the Sakyas; both speak - beside Nepali
that is related to other contemporary Indian prakrits
like Hindi - a sino-tibetan tonal language.
