for those of you who are interested in an easy way to input pali
unicode characters, there is a unicode text editor named 'yudit'. i
wrote a kmap file, which allows you to input the characters by a
method like velthius, except that the characters appear with the
diacritics when typed.

all of the keystrokes are the same as velthius, with the exception of:

,n = "n (ṅ)
'n = ~n (ñ)

the program is available for both linux and windows. for windows, you
dont need to worry about setting up complex unicode things, either.
just install the font package, too.

i sent the keymap file i created to the developer of the editor, but i
guess it won't be included with the program until the next release. if
you would like the pali.my file to place in the yudit directory, i'd
be glad to email it to you (it's very small) or post it in the files
section. you could also probably make your own, the syntax is very simple.

may you all be well and happy,

jon bressie
