According to the book The Fundamental Teachings of Early Buddhism
(by Choong Mun-keat) in pages 110-1, it seems to me that feelings
themselves are not suffering (bodily feeling). But if feelings
develop negative emotions (mental feeling), such as desire,
repulsion, and ignorance, then the emotions will give rise to
suffering, such as grief, distress, affliction. These are not a
peaceful feeling at all. It makes sense to me.
