Hi Yong Peng,

The frequency count of "0" means "1". Its a zero-based index and i forgot to increment by one for readability.

The concordance is already "open source" - but frankly, its size doesnt make it easy to distribute.

The DVD ROM will cover only costs for shipping and hosting the concordance on the server - so no effort on my site to earn money with something which is priceless..:-)

Your idea with a comprehensive list of verbs etc. is very exciting. I thing i will try this coming weekend to produce a version with the current list - lets see how many verbs we can extract...

best wishes,

Lennart

PS: i will post infos on how to obtain the DVD ROM once i get everything together. The version is quite limited at first - i think that an improved version should make much more contexts available through hyperlinking - in order to allow jumping easily between all parts (words/sentences) of the canon.

Dear Lennart and friends,

congratulations, Lennart, for such an exciting achievement. I am
interested to get a copy of the DVD-Rom, can you provide more
information how to obtain one? Also, would you consider the
concordance information open-source too?

I have had a look at the list, the sorted list is marvellous. The
IComparer implementation is brilliant. The frequency list has words
with frequency of 0. Is that a flaw?

Your offer to generate a list of verbs is greatly appreciated. I
guess the number of verbs in the Tipitaka is in the thousands, if not
tens of thousand. It is too daunting a task for one person to handle.
Hence, I would like to wait for the replies from Ven. Pandita and
Harry if they are keen in collaboration.

metta,
Yong Peng.

If some further time is spent on elaborating on the corpus toolset it
wont be a big problem to extract, for instance, all verbs (ending in -
*ti) from the list (let me know if you need such a sub-list, Yong!)
etc... it's just a question of the proper algorithm. In any case such
a word list is really helpful - be it for developing a simple
automatic translation tool or a fast and comprehensive search tool.
