Begging can either be aggressive or weak and pathetic. Neither of the connotations fits the pindipata very well IMO. "Alms-round" sounds much better. On the other hand, I like the expression 'come, beggar' for the early ehi bhikkhu ordinations. It's more intimate, which somehow fits the early stage of a religion with its first disciples.
