You are absolutely right - i was even thinking of supporting the newest .Net Framework 2.0 soon - but did not think of scarce hardware/download resources which might favor the old 1.0 installation. That is, i tried to keep the download package for the software as small as possible and did not consider the Framework component.
I will try to see which parts of the current implementation essentially require version 1.1 of Microsofts Framework - if possible i will let you know of an alternative setup running only on .NET 1.0
