Dear John, Nina, Ole and friends,
after so much discussion, I am wondering if abhiññaa can be
translated in just one word -- insight?
I have also other questions:
1. What is Bhikkhu Bodhi's MLDB translation?
2. Do ekantanibbidaa, viraaga, nirodha, upasama, abhi~n~naa, sambodha
and nibbaana arise simultaneously or in sequence, as the result of
practising any one of the anussatis.
metta,
Yong Peng.

As for abhiññaa, I don't think knowledge and awareness - how about
direct knowledge. I think the concept is the thorough seeing things
as they really are through direct experience and is the achievement
of a stream-enterer or higher.
