Dear Tzung-kuen,
The term paarihaariyakamma.t.thaana defines a subject of meditation (i.e. a canonical passage on a particular subject). In Visuddhimagga chapter three on how to acquire a subject of meditation Buddhaghosa explains that it is called "a meditation subject to be carried around (a "portable" meditation subject if you like) because one has to carry it around al the time): tassa nicca.m pariharitabbattaa ... paarihaariyakammammat.thaanan ti vuccati. And the knoledge concerning the meditation subject is paarihaariyapa.n.naa.
