Could anyone let me know the correct spelling, ie, with diacriticals,
of the names the two Burmese meditation masters, normally spelled as
Ledi and Mahasi, and their title, normally spelled as Sayadaw . On the
CS CDROM I found Ledi Sayadaw spelled as Le.dii Sayaa.do and I was told
that the correct spelling of Mahasi Sayadaw is Mahaasi Sayaadaw.
How is Ledi Sayadaw's name pronounced in Burma? Short e (like in metta)
or long e (like in sela) or is it pronounced in another way (like in
English ''lady'')?
Thanks.
