Dear Ole,

re: (and that it has duly
erased Saint Josaphat from its list of saints);

I thought the same until I asked a knowledgeable Christian priest about it
who said that actually they just took him off the official calendar of feast
days, the Buddha is still a Christian saint.

The calendar was so full that they didn't have any empty days left to give
to new saints and multiple saints on some days. So at the time of the second
vatican council they went through the list taking out some of the saints who
they didn't really have much or any information on about their lives or
their holiness, or who they actually know weren't very holy at all but had
political influence in the vatican.
