Back in July I reported to the list one way of using CSCD on SUSE
Linux 9.3 (message no. 8332). I don't know the situation with other
Linux distributions. For the benefit of those who do not want to dig
in the archive, I paste the relevant part of the message below:

I am running SUSE Linux Professional 9.3 with KDE 3.4. I have
reasonably priced shareware called CrossOver Office (for more
information, go to www.codeweavers.com/products/crossover/)
installed, which installs and runs Windows-based applications on
Linux. I have successfully installed CSCD. Luckily, I wrote a short
instruction to remind myself how I installed it on my system, which I
copy below. The precise configuration may vary depending on your
desktop system, but I hope it helps.
Best wishes,
Tomo

How to install Chaṭṭha Saṅgāyana CD-ROM
on your hard drive in
SUSE Linux 9.3 & KDE 3.4
using CrossOver Office Standard version 4.2
Recently I installed some Microsoft Office software on SUSE 9.3 using
CrossOver Office. This works great and it got me a bit more
ambitious, so I tried to install more unsupported software. CSCD is
obviously 'unsupported' by CrossOver but it was simple enough to be
successfully installed.
Install Instuctions:
1. Start CrossOver setup and click install.
2. Select unsupported software and click next.
3. Select your CD drive (in my case /media/cdrecorder) and click next.
This will start the Windows Setup program. Go ahead with normal
install, which will complete upon CrossOver simulating the Windows
reboot process. This will allow you to run Chattha Sangayana from
CD-ROM, but this is tedious as you will have to insert the CD-ROM
every time you want to use it. So
4. Copy the whole directory /CSCD from the CD-ROM to where CSCD is
installed. In my case this is ~/.cxoffice/dotwine/fake_windows/CSCD.
5. Next, open KDE Menu editor either by following the program menu and
right-click on CSCD or by opening KMenu editor through Control
Centre. Set your starting directory (where the data files of CSCD are
stored) in the field 'Work path'. I did this by copying & pasting the
directory path since clicking on the folder icon next to it didn't
let me select the hidden file path (/.cxoffice).
6. Save the setting and exit KDE Menu Editor. That's it!
