Thanks for the reference to Narada. Yes, I was just counting
syllables without regards to length.
It's possible that other metrical considerations come into play to
make cps 'sound nice' but I don't know what they might be. A very
tentative guess would be that given an equal number of syllables, an
element with several long syllables might prefer to come after an
element with only short syllables, ex: ...|-.- and not -.-|... But as
I said, this is just a hypothesis.
