The CSCD reading is incorrect and possibly also the Burmese version upon wich CSCD is based. The correct reading is ma.nku.nabhattaa: "food for bugs," which fits the context perfectly.

Dear friends
Ps I 199 (CSCD) says, ..rattindiva.m ma.ngulabhattaa hutvaa...
Could any of you kindly tell me what the word ma.ngulabhatta means? It also appears as ma.nkulabhatta.
In PED, bhatta is food, ma.ngula is sallow (I can't find ma.nkula). But what does the bahubhiihi compound mean?
