Dear Alan, Nina, John and friends,

I am actually refering to Ven. Yuttadhammo, not Ven. Pandita. Sorry
for the confusion.

It is now clear that you are not posting exactly 2 suttas a week, but
that it will depend on the length of the text. However, Nina's
comment about the pace should be considered. This week you will be
posting Vibha`nga Sutta (Sutta 2). In terms of size, it is the same
as Sutta 1 and 3 combined. If Nina is OK with that, then we will
stick to that. That will mean Sutta 4 (which is double the length of
Sutta 2) will be splitted into 2 weeks. If Nina or anyone finds it
too much, then we will adjust the length of each post.

Whatever it is, I am not in favor of doing more. Looking at the
participation, I think we have enough. And we should leave room for
other topics and discussions. And also the adhoc translations we used
to get on the list. So that means, Sutta 4 and any other long suttas
have to be spread over weeks.

metta,
Yong Peng.

As far as switching days goes, I think this would be better left up
to those who are following the two projects. For me, it makes no
difference whether I post on Saturday or Sunday. However, since you
would like more to be posted on Saturdays than on Sundays, it might
matter to some people which days we post respectively, etc. I will
keep posting on Saturdays, however, unless I hear that people want it
otherwise, and then we can work things out. As I mentioned, I am
simply wanting people to get the most out of this project possible,
and if I am posting more than people can keep up with, then it is a
waste in a number of different ways, and regardless of being on time,
is problematic. I hope that this isn't the case, though I have my
reservations based on those two responses. Of course, I understand
that others may be following along as well who are perfectly happy,
but I haven't heard from them and so can't know for sure.

As for Ven. Pandita, I'm sorry for my ignorance, but who is he, and
what translations is he doing?

number of suttas that I decide on what to post, but the amount of
materials. I suggested to do more than the first sutta because it is
rather short.

the plan fails if we do less. However, it is also not recommended
that we do more, as that will overload the group's (and individual
member's) activity. Besides, I believe rushing through it is not
going to produce any quality translation. I also recommend a break at
the end of each Samyutta, at least.
