Dear Alan, Nina, John and friends,

thanks for the discussion. Alan, you are right about my intention. If
we spread out the translation too much, we may run out of gas very soon.

However, if you recall our off-list discussion, it is not the number of
suttas that I decide on what to post, but the amount of materials. I
suggested to do more than the first sutta because it is rather short.

I understand very well the amount of time and effort involved, and for
this week, please just do Vibha`nga Sutta (Sutta 2). And Vipassii Sutta
(Sutta 4) can be done over 2 weeks.

The plan is to cover a minimum amount of the text each week. So, the
plan fails if we do less. However, it is also not recommended that we
do more, as that will overload the group's (and individual member's)
activity. Besides, I believe rushing through it is not going to produce
any quality translation. I also recommend a break at the end of each
Samyutta, at least.

Another option would be I take over the Saturday thread for AN, and you
take the Sunday thread, since we are suppose to do more on Saturday
than Sunday. Please let me know if you need further help in planning.

Also, hopefully Ven. Pandita can join in the discussion if there is any
questions raised, since he is the person doing the translation.

metta,
Yong Peng.

I know that you are in favor of not spreading out the SN translations
too much, but it seems to me like it might be better to do one sutta
per Saturday based on feedback from Nina and John. What do you think
about this? This Saturday will only be one sutta at any rate because
it is quite long, but would you be opposed to reducing the load to one
single sutta each Saturday?
