In the first stanza of the Dhaniyasutta (18th stanza
of the Suttanipaata), how should the word
"samaanavaaso" be analyzed? I suppose that "sa" is
"with", and that the verb "vasati" is somewhere in the
following syllables, but that is about as far as I
have got.

Thanissaro translates the line by "I live with my
people along the banks of the Mahi", and Nyanaponika
by "Am Mahi-Ufer wohne ich gesellt den Meinen"; but I
haven't been able to find this meaning of "maana" in
the PTS dictionary.
