you are absolutely correct, Thomas. The aforementioned Chinese text
does not correspond closely with Kalama Sutta, but I bet it is the
closest we have, or maybe not.

I am currently building an online project which will allow us to
conduct comparative studies of the Pali canon with other Buddhist
texts. It is still in its development phase, and I have just completed
a study of the scalability of the project (in software engineering
terms).

Back to your original question. There has been, in recent years, the
translation of the Pali canon, in parts or entirety, into East Asian
languages. I have come across Chinese translations from Chinese
communities around the world, Taiwan, Singapore, China, the United
States, Hong Kong, Malaysia, to name just a few. If you ask around, you
will be able to find a modern Chinese translation of the Kalama Sutta
as you always know.
